VoltED is a non-profit organization that provides STEM educational curriculum for middle school through adult learners. Member of a design team building their 0-1 website using Wordpress with Kadence Pro, Hubspot, LearnDash, GiveWP, and WooCommerce integrations.
"They want to go live with a website in like, two weeks?" was my introduction to this project. "They're using WordPress and have picked an LMS and a payment platform. They have scoped three static pages and two dynamic pages. Who's in?"

Well, I am for sure in, recognizing that I happened to be in the right meeting at the right time, a phrase few of us would ever use to describe a meeting. Two other designers are in as well, so our team schedules an intro call with the VoltED team and we get to work reading the mountains of documents the prepared client has brought to the table.

Spoiler alert: we meet the timeframe. The website launches. And we continue to design and build it out.

My Direct Contributions
About Us & Contact Page
I built this page in WordPress, using the Kadence Pro template. A healthy amount of white space offsets the text and images. Using the brand palette's navy as headers ties back to their logo without introducing an overwhelming amount of color.

On the page I:
-
Clearly state the organization's mission, vision, credibility, and values.
-
Showcase the VoltED leadership team.
-
Edited a robust history of the organization into a digestible story.
-
Implemented a Contact Us form, integrated with HubSpot.
Funding & Partnership Page
The heart of any non-profit organization is the ability to raise funding, as donations fuel sustaining operations as well as help educational groups to deliver the STEM curriculum. Thus the goal for this page was to succinctly communicate the value of partnerships and sponsorships and to create clear pathways for each.

On the page I:
-
Showcase the different ways folks can support the VoltED mission, including the benefits of each.
-
Built WooCommerce products to support two sponsorship levels.
-
Integrated GiveWP to allow donors to contribute to a general financial fund in amounts of their choice.
Ongoing Work
After launching the initial web pages, I am now part of a team of two web designers building out their STEM curriculum in LearnDash. Taking copy from our Instructional/Curriculum Designer, we translate that into the LMS and design engaging visual and clear experiences for students and teachers alike.
